SCA uses Crystal Alarm for staff working in the forest. SCA has chosen an external alarm centre that handles alerts directly and takes action in accordance with the response plan established by SCA.

Trigger an alarm with your Android & iPhone
Crystal Alarm runs on staff mobile phones. By pressing the ON/OFF button multiple times, an immediate alarm is triggered.
External remote control: Crystal Button
Staff who wish to can use the Crystal Button, a small, convenient remote control that uses Bluetooth technology to trigger the alarm on their phone. Crystal Button is designed to prevent false alarms.
External alarm monitoring centre at GDM
Building on Crystal Alarm, GDM has established a central alarm monitoring centre that receives and manages all alarms from SCA Skog and other client organisations. The centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and handles alarms in accordance with the action plan defined by each respective client.
GPS location tracking via your phone
As soon as an alarm is triggered, a location is sent and displayed on a map. The position updates continuously if the person in distress is on the move.
Satellite tracker: location coverage anywhere
When staff are working in areas with no mobile coverage, SCA Skog supplements the system with the SPOT Gen 3, which is also part of the Crystal Alarm ecosystem. SPOT works seamlessly with both Android and iPhones.
Live audio monitoring: assess the situation instantly
When an alarm is triggered, the phone's microphone is activated automatically, allowing the control centre to listen to ambient sound in real time. This feature is invaluable for assessing what level of response is needed.
