Setting a new standard for lone worker alarm management together with Avarn Security


Over the past six months, we have been working closely with alarm receiving centre Avarn Security to develop a better way to manage personal alarms. The result is a completely new integration between Crystal Alarm and Avarn Security.


Administrators can now add a new alarm user in one go, with all the necessary details, including name, phone number, action plan, and authorisation code. The alarm is ready to use the moment the administrator hits save. With a fully automated integration, we are confident that the risk of human error is significantly reduced and that the simplicity of setting up new users means staff can be equipped with a personal alarm without any waiting time. We have already migrated over 30 customers to the new solution, and the feedback from their administrators has been overwhelmingly positive.

Crystal Alarm launches Beacon Tuner for Android, an app that simplifies the installation and maintenance of iBeacons for indoor positioning. The app displays all active beacons sorted by proximity, battery level per device, and enables colour coding to, for example, identify floor levels. Crystal Alarm announces that their new personal alarm, the Crystal Button CB20, has received a strong reception since launch — with nearly 5,000 units delivered and not a single return. The button has been designed for demanding environments such as industrial, healthcare, and logistics settings, offering a range of up to 400 metres, a five-year battery life, and an IP67 rating. The CB20 uses a proprietary communication protocol for greater reliability than standard Bluetooth, and can be integrated with the Crystal Alarm App, Wi-Fi positioning, and Cisco infrastructure.
