Beacon Tuner for Android Devices
One effective way to position alarms indoors is to install what are known as iBeacons. iBeacons continuously transmit a signal containing their location. Our alarm app can pick up this signal and use it to pinpoint the location of the alerting device. Beacon Tuner is an app we have developed to simplify the installation of new Beacons. The app displays a list of all active Beacons, with the nearest Beacon appearing at the top of the list. The app makes it easy to sort Beacons by assigning a colour to any Beacon of your choice. A colour can, for example, indicate which floor of a building a Beacon is located on, or flag one that needs to be updated. The app also shows the battery level of each Beacon and indicates when one needs to be replaced. Battery levels are automatically uploaded to the Self-Service Portal, which also provides an overview of all Beacons — making it easy to see if any Beacon requires a battery replacement. This solution makes it straightforward to keep track of all Beacons in a building and verify that the correct settings are configured on each one. We are currently in the final testing phase and expect to launch Beacon Tuner in April.

Crystal Alarm launches Beacon Tuner for Android, an app that simplifies the installation and maintenance of iBeacons for indoor positioning. The app displays all active beacons sorted by proximity, battery level per device, and enables colour coding to, for example, identify floor levels. Battery levels are automatically synced to the Self-Service Portal. Launch is planned for April.

Crystal Alarm announces that their new personal alarm, the Crystal Button CB20, has received a strong reception since launch — with nearly 5,000 units delivered and not a single return. The button has been designed for demanding environments such as industrial, healthcare, and logistics settings, offering a range of up to 400 metres, a five-year battery life, and an IP67 rating. The CB20 uses a proprietary communication protocol for greater reliability than standard Bluetooth, and can be integrated with the Crystal Alarm App, Wi-Fi positioning, and Cisco infrastructure.
