High security and peace of mind for train hosts
Train hosts at SJ have been using our alarm system since 2012. Alerts are sent both to traffic control in Stockholm or Gothenburg and to the nearest colleagues. A key benefit for staff is that the alarm runs on their own mobile phone — something they already carry with them. Having to carry an extra device in their pocket would have been far less convenient.
Timed alarm
Staff sometimes need to leave the train to carry out certain tasks, at which point they activate the timed alarm. If the alarm is not cancelled within a set period, colleagues and the alarm centre are notified and can see the exact location of the staff member.
Connection to the alarm centre
The alarm centre immediately receives a live audio feed from the person raising the alarm. In a real emergency, the person triggering the alarm is also connected to a listen-in link with the alarm centre.
Beacon Tuner for Android Devices
Crystal Alarm launches Beacon Tuner for Android, an app that simplifies the installation and maintenance of iBeacons for indoor positioning. The app displays all active beacons sorted by proximity, battery level per device, and enables colour coding to, for example, identify floor levels. Battery levels are automatically synced to the Self-Service Portal. Launch is planned for April.

Crystal Button CB20 – 5,000 Units Sent with Zero Returns
Crystal Alarm announces that their new personal alarm, the Crystal Button CB20, has received a strong reception since launch — with nearly 5,000 units delivered and not a single return. The button has been designed for demanding environments such as industrial, healthcare, and logistics settings, offering a range of up to 400 metres, a five-year battery life, and an IP67 rating. The CB20 uses a proprietary communication protocol for greater reliability than standard Bluetooth, and can be integrated with the Crystal Alarm App, Wi-Fi positioning, and Cisco infrastructure.
